Week One
I'm so glad to be a part of what God is doing and about to do at Beach project. Although some parts are mundane and repetitive, these are the places that God is glorified. At work, we should always be diligent to put our best foot forward because we do not work to please man, but God, which is a hard concept when the only thing you see is people.
Highlights
I started working at Walmart on Wednesday, at least, that was the day of my PAID orientation. The next day, I started a real workday. I was pleased to know that I was allowed to stop every two hours for my breaks/lunch. As I realized on my last workday, those breaks kept me going. Working at Walmart is not bad. I'm sure there will be some days where I wish I was never there, but so far, I'm enjoying the experience and the money that I will be making will be worth it.
My favorite thing about my break/lunch times are the people I spend them with. Although we don't work in the same area, other SBP students are in the breakroom at similar times as me. It's so refreshing to see more of my brothers/sisters in Christ in there. It really lifts my spirits.
We had an amazing sabbath. The church that we went
to was so good. They really focused on scripture. We recited scripture at the
beginning and end of service and the pastor stayed focused on the scripture and
only it. I appreciate that.

I've enjoyed walking on the beach so far, although the sand is absolutely atrocious. It sticks to everything and doesn't easily wash off. The waves are so fun though.

We ate at chili's after church and I got "nachos". This was an interesting way to put them together, and they did not disappoint. |
 |
We had a social and the theme was "speed dating". The girls d-groups went around to the guys d-groups and we did games, crafts, and talked as a way to get to know more people. |
 |
I won a bouquet at one of the games and it's so pretty and smells really nice. |
