My Papers for English Composition: Just Dance

I started dual enrollment this fall. I didn't want to take more courses in addition to my high school studies, but it's going much better than I thought it would. Even then, I only have 2 high school studies to finish up. 

I hope I can learn how to write better through this course. I'm enjoying it more than I thought I would. Anyway, here is my first paper for the course. For our 1st essay, we had to answer a question in our own words. We aren't allowed to do research either. The question I chose was : "What is the best game to play with a group of people and why?"

Just Dance

You are having a party, but you need a game to play to entertain your guests. You don’t want a board game because your guests will get bored too quickly. A video game might keep them entertained, but sitting down with controllers doesn’t give you the fun you are looking for. Plus, most controller games don’t have many multiplayer options, so everybody won’t get a turn. You find Just Dance and remember all it has to offer. Just Dance is a great party game because of its fun dances and styles, great multiplayer options that ensure everybody has a chance to play, and it is a fun system to watch if you aren’t playing. Also, there are over 20 songs to play on Just Dance; the fun can last as long as you want without unnecessary repetition. Because it requires all parts of the body, it is also a great way to stay active and involved with your guests.

Dancing is a fun activity that you can enjoy with a lot of people. Unlike some Xbox games that require a controller, Just Dance requires that you use your body as the controller. Full body movement keeps you active and interested. Because you are using your whole body, you can prevent boredom and distraction caused by inactivity. When you are dancing with other people, both players endure the same confusion and challenges with dancing to choreography you aren’t familiar with. If you already know the dance, you can challenge others to see who can dance it the best. 

Just dance has all of the music styles: Pop, Rap, Electronic, R&B, and more. Just Dance also has music from other cultures such as Spanish and Folk-style music. For a few songs Just Dance provides 2 or 3 choreographies for one song. The Alternate version is harder and/or more complicated than the original dance that they offer.  It doesn’t stop there. They also have Mashups where they combine dances of multiple songs and use it as the choreography for one song. On Just Dance, there is a song for everybody. On Just Dance, there are duets, dance teams and single person songs. Plus, Just Dance has resources like Just Sweat, which are exercise-based dance routines that make it easier to play just as long as you want.There are many styles to explore.

With the Just Dance game, everybody will get a chance to play. The dances only last about 3 minutes, so another group doesn’t have to wait long to get a chance to play. Another way to accommodate many people is using tournament brackets. They ensure that everybody gets a chance to play. If you can’t wait that long to play, Just dance allows multiple people at a time.

Just Dance’s system allows up to 4 people to play at a time. Though it’s most comfortable with 2 people, there are ways to get past the fun uncomfortability of playing with 4 people. Though the best way to play comfortably with multiple people is to have a large room, there is an easier way to accommodate 4 players. By staggering the players, it maximizes the space you have and allows more room for each player. To stagger, players 1 and 3 dance in the front and players 2 and 4 dance in the back, so that everybody has enough room to dance.

Because Just Dance’s System is fun to watch, you can be entertained even when you aren’t dancing. Active backgrounds and sets that fit the song’s theme are often fun and eye-catching. You can often find new details in the backgrounds that you didn’t notice other times you played. Each background has a story to tell. The outfits for the songs are also coordinated with the background and overall theme of the song. Many times, the dancers are dressed up to look like the artist of the song. Seeing who looks like the artist of the song dancing to the song makes for an interesting experience. Playing Just Dance is a fun experience if you are either watching or playing. 

Just Dance is a great party game because of its options for game play and music. It can be a great source of exercise, it has various multiplayer options, and you can be easily entertained with it’s fun settings. You won’t get bored because of it’s 20+ songs. Because a new Just Dance edition is made every year, the fun doesn’t have to stop.
